Nari Contractor, captain of the Indian side for the 1961-62 West Indies tour recalled how his opening batsman, Dilip Sardesai, exclaimed ‘ghanta’ before going on to stress how Charlie Griffith, who eventually injured Contractor, did not appear quick in his first over for Barbados against the Indians.
